After a few weeks of break 😌, reflection 🤔, creation 😇, rest 😴, observation 🤓, contemplation 😮 and dreams 🦋… it's back to the 'Tip' section of ✨✨✨ YUM Life ✨ ✨✨! We're going strong this month because I'm going to talk to you about SUGAR 🍩🍭🍦🍦! And from Monday, you will once again receive my 💫💭 Magitouus Thoughts 💭💫 which, I hope, will give a nice color 🌈 to your week. SUGAR has caused a lot of ink to flow, ✍️ so we’re not going to deprive ourselves!
Sugar, from sugar beet or sugar cane, is called sucrose, so far so good!
Its sweet taste is one of the rare sensory modalities that generates pleasure from birth... huuummm 😋 how good it is... and it seems like a reflex, that says it all 🙈.
Hence the importance of not introducing sugar too early to baby 🙅♀️.
White sugar has a very high glycemic index. I invite you to read or reread tip n°50, specially dedicated to this important concept here
The craving for sugar is closely linked to our emotions 😢😡☹️.
This craving for sugar that sometimes grips us when we need reassurance, when our morale is down, when we are stressed, when we feel alone, when we are lacking love... when... when... when …🤷♀️.
Sugar unconsciously brings us to mom 🤱, to the primal sweet flavors of amniotic fluid or breast milk, or to grandma 👵 and her delicious desserts 🥧.
And what about the unconscious memory of the sweet reward that we received when we were 'nice', a kind of parental conditioning in a way.
And advertising packaging 📢, a real brainwashing ❗️
There are also other, more mundane factors that trigger the craving for sugar: a deficiency in B vitamins, an excess of tea, coffee or tobacco, intestinal fungi (e.g. Candida).
Over time, excessive sugar consumption creates a very tough addiction. I'll spare you the details of what's happening in your brain 🧠 ... simply, it's the same mechanism as that at work in people addicted to hard drugs (e.g. pleasure circuit: dopamine). You see the idea 🤦♀️❓
Hence the stubborn withdrawal syndrome that can arise❗️
And then we are surprised that it is impossible to resist it.
The aim of these articles being to take care of our health in JOY 😃 and GOOD MOOD 😆, I am not going to dwell too much on all the harms of white sugar, except perhaps a few which are less known like the fact that it is:
👉 A thief of minerals and trace elements
👉 A stomach irritant
👉 A destroyer of intestinal flora
👉 A factor favoring the development of a cataract
But also he:
👉 Increases cholesterol
👉 Promotes constipation, accelerated aging and...
👉 Weakens the immune system.
Come on, okay, okay, I'll stop 😬.
But what to do then ❓
If you're addicted to sugar, and there's no shame in that, remember, it's hardwired into your brain from birth 🧠and addiction is as powerful as a hard drug.
Therefore, if you are in this situation, the most effective solution to get rid of this addiction is to fast 💧, well, yes!
During a fast, incredible things happen in your body, one of which, and not the least of which, is that of transforming you from a gourmand 🤢 into a gourmet 😋.
The relationship with food changes completely, you learn to control your mind 💭 and your emotions and find a healthy and balanced relationship ⚖️ with the pleasures of the table 🍽️.
If, however, you are not yet ready to embark on this adventure 💦, then here are some tips that will help you:
✅ First of all: determine the cause of the addiction (yes, not easy... I suspect) then:
✅ Halve the amount of sugar consumed
✅ Replace white sugar with whole sugar, dried fruit, dates, honey, xylitol or agave syrup for example
✅ Double your amount of raw vegetables, vegetables and fiber
✅ Reduce your consumption of sodas or fruit juices purchased at the supermarket
✅ Walk, move, get some fresh air: it balances your energy and improves your metabolism
In conclusion: sugar will be: a little... passionately and not a lot 😆❗️
Come on, ✨✨✨ Miam la Vie ✨✨✨ and see you next week for new adventures !
I am already happy to see you again🤗❗️
