Tip n°32 : Food compatibilities

Yes, we can eat everything 😋, a diversified diet is the basis of a healthy diet 👍.

But … there is a but of course 😉 … you still have to know how to combine foods ❓

Today we will talk about FOOD COMPATIBILITIES, in other words those foods that go well together and those that do not mix at all 🙅‍♀️.

And yes, it's like in life between humans, some have more affinity with each other than others 🤷‍♀️😉.

In fact, the body uses enzymes to digest our food and these vary according to the food consumed.

When two foods are associated with antagonistic enzymes ❌❌ (with opposite properties) this causes poor digestion 🤢 and poor assimilation of nutrients 🥴.

Result 👉 some foods, such as cereals 🍚🥖🥮 and starches 🥔 ferment, others, such as proteins 🥩🍗🐟 putrefy 😱.

Yes, that's not very fresh 😫.

However, this makes the bacteria 🦠 happy, the bad ones of course, which develop in the intestine and proliferate.

On the menu: bloating 😣, digestive heaviness 😵‍💫, gas, constipation/diarrhea 🥴, pain 😩... in the long run the intestines become fragile, the colon deteriorates... and the immune system with it 😓.

Before starting, it is useful to specify that:

👉 Animal protein = meat 🍖, fish 🐟 and seafood 🦐, eggs 🍳, milk 🥛, cheese 🧀, yoghurt.

👉 Starches/flour/cereals = potato 🥔, wheat 🍞, rice 🍚, corn 🌽, etc.

👉 Sugar/Fruits = all sugars and preparations containing them 🍦🍮🍬, fresh 🥝🥭🍊 and dried fruits, milk 🥛 and yogurts (contain a lot of sugar)

And now here are the food combinations to avoid:

⛔ COMBINATION OF ANIMAL PROTEINS AND STARCHES/FLOURS/CEREALS

Ex. meat 🥩 + potato 🍟 or cheese 🧀 + bread 🥖 … yes, I know … it’s hard 🙈.

If, however, you want to accompany your meat or fish with a cereal, prefer lighter cereals: rice, buckwheat, millet.

⛔ COMBINATION OF ANIMAL PROTEINS and SUGAR/FRUITS

Ex. orange duck or chicken 🍗 with pineapple or fruit 🍊/desserts 🍰 at the end of a meal … yes … harder and harder 🙈🙈🙈.

Fruits should be eaten on their own, especially if you have weak digestion. The best times to consume fruit are: 45 minutes before a meal, in the morning at breakfast or between meals 👌.

⛔ COMBINATION STARCH/FLOUR/CEREAL and SUGAR/FRUIT - even worse 🙈 if you add fat. It's actually the worst association ❗

Ex. Cereals 🥣 in the morning + sugar + orange juice 🥤… not really the best way to start the day 😳 and if you add more milk it becomes really TERRIIIIIIIIBLE 🙈 (see previous association).

⛔ SUGAR and ACID COMBINATION

Ex: sugar 🍦 and orange 🍊

⛔ COMBINATION OF ACID FRUITS and SWEET FRUITS

Ex. orange 🍊 and banana 🍌

Thus arrives, sadly 😥, the end of some myths:

👎 A fruit at the end of the meal is lighter 😂

👎 A meal should always contain protein, vegetables and starch 😂😂

👎 A bowl of cereal with fruit and milk to start the day off right 😂😂😂

On the other hand, the food associations that will delight 😃 your digestive tract are:

✅ COMBINATION OF ANIMAL PROTEINS and VEGETABLES

Ex. Fish and vegetables

✅ COMBINATION OF VEGETABLES and FRUITS

In juices for example, ⚠️ Be careful, this is not suitable for everyone ❗

✅ COMBINATION OF VEGETABLES and STARCHES/FLOURS/CEREALS

Ex. Risotto with vegetables

That said, I can't repeat it enough 😉, this is the theory especially if you suffer from digestive disorders.

In practice, anything goes and it's just a matter of measurement ⚖️.

A good dessert 🍮 or bread 🥖 and cheese 🧀 at the end of a meal, isn't that simply delicious 😋 ❓

And don't forget, a bomb 💣💥 from time to time will strengthen your digestive system which will be ready for any eventuality 💪.

Come on, on this, I say to you ✨✨✨ Yummy Life ✨✨✨ and HAPPY WEEKEND to all 🥰.
